Nerds of a Feather is a regular segment on the Triple J Breakfast Show with Robby, Marieke and The Doctor.
Apart from bombarding the national breakfasting public with nerd fetish tidbits and arbitrary humor, Paul Verhoeven (the host of N.O.T.F.) will also be blogging here on anythying and everything that tickles his fancy, along with fellow bloggers and humorists Luke Ryan (a writer/comic who looks a bit like Moby), and Ned Dwyer (who designed this site and by no means has a WOW character called Manchux).
So if your primal nerd/pop culture urges need to be violently and regularly satiated, this is the place to be.

Reverse-Nerdism?:
Every time Robby, Marieke or The Doctor use 1337sp33k (ironically or otherwise) on national radio, God finances another Uwe Boll ‘film’ and a part of me dies.
They need to be goatse’d immediately.

You have the Daily Show and the Colbert Report as your ‘Daily Reads’. Will you forgive me if i use that as a segue to talk about my blog where Jon and Stephen are depicted as pro-wrestlers.

Hey guys,
Ive been told by many that Im the female version of Paul. Though I tend to smile all the time, say naughty ambiguous lines (that often don’t make sense or have anything to do with the situation at hand) and lack the art of putting a good joke together.
Maybe we are very similar!?

Do you also tend to laugh out of context? If so, we may very well be one and the same person! Handy hint: Laughing during The Notebook is not a good idea, especially in a cinema full of people either crying or trying to cry.

Long time listener, first time reader. You are hilarious.

Cheers Donna, I try. Well, sometimes I just let the caffeine make me say weird shit. Either way, much appreciated!

How many people that listen to nerd of a feather are actually so? I must say that I do get most of what you say and its good to know that i’m not the only one that talks and has other people not have a clue what your saying.
Nice.

I have to confess. I am not ‘nerdy’ nor do I have any idea what the hell World of Warcraft is… but I have grown to love your crazy nerd banter on Triple J enough so that I now download the podcast & visit this website… mmm… maybe I am a little nerdy afterall.

Hey guys, I’ve been a fan since the great Warglaives of Azzinoth swindle story dropped on Triple J a while back. Want you to know that reading about the delay on the CERN doom machine and an unborn Alaskan makes my day that much better.

How the hell does N.O.T.F. stand for Nerds of a Feather?? haha And why hasn’t Marieke pointed this out yet!

Cheers guys, we’ll keep writing if you keep reading.
Re the acronym, very good point! I’ll have a word.

Hey Paul, I would have to say I am a partial nerd, perhaps around the semi-hardcore gamer level (if there is such as thing). Just dropping by to say I love the show and now a first time blogger. A quick question Socom: Confrontation or Call of Duty 5?
16 paul // Oct 9, 2008 at 7:08 am
Call of Duty 5! Mainly because I don’t lnow Socom all that well. Lot’s of my friends are FPS afficianados, but in that field, I don’t think you can beat Half Life 2 (and all it’s associated projects).

Paul, i love your radio show, you are one of the most clever and whitty people on radio. Above all, you are original, something difficult to attain in this day of so much rubbish on commercial radio…Keep up the great work..You are destined for greatness…

id like to say im not a geek but feel that would be a *slight* inaccuracy - wondering if you’re bash.org type of lads? i always found that a good source for the inane, inappropriate and downright perverse
im aware there is little to none carefactor (potentially around the /carefactor=0.34%) but i felt it my duty to remind you boys of our roots. nothing beats the simplicity of bash and salad fingers - the best part being now there will be randoms googling such treasures!!!
