Just a quick swine flu update: the Swine Flu has now hit Azeroth. In the Borean Tundra, near the Horde town of Warsong Hold, there are unliving swine, which will cast the Swine Flu debuff on you. Granted, you don’t need to have sex with the pig to catch the disease, you just need to batter it with whatever weapons you have handy.
From Wowinsider:
The Swine Flu disease itself is benign, however every time you attack something it has a chance at triggering an Outbreak. An Outbreak of Swine Flu will cause a fever that inflicts 120 nature damage every 2 seconds for 8 seconds total, and reduces movement speed to 70% of normal. Like Swine Flu, Outbreak is a disease that can be cured.
Which begs the question: since when was Blizzard being topical with diseases? What’s next, Thrall’s Got Cancer?

UPDATE: Apparently this disease has been present in the game since Wrath of the Lich King. Still, eerie as fuck.

i daresay it’s eerier that it existed pre-IRL swine flu. it kinda suggests that diseases from WoW may be invading real life. i got wandering rot last night. i don’t want to get wandering rot. i would however like to be able to turn into a giant cat.
oh yes, and just in case you’re wondering, i crumbled. i’m playing again.

Also, wandering rot is a disease, so you’d want a priest to look at that. And old priest and a young priest.
