Many apologies for such a long silence, but it’s been a very busy easter weekend. I trust you all had a good one, and didn’t succumb to a diabetic coma on account of all the eggs.
Today is patch day! For those of you who don’t play or don’t know anything about World of Warcraft (which would total about three of you, I believe), this won’t mean much. Patch 3.1 means the arrival of Ulduar (which comprises shitloads of lore, 10 and 25 man raids, and… let’s just say it’ll take a long time for most of us to see much of it), the Argent Tournament, and dual speccing, as well as craploads of class changes. If you’re out of the loop, head across to Wowinsiders patch guide. It’s fairly unintimidating, and has the live patch notes. In short, it’s less a patch and more of a mini-expansion. So if you have any loved ones who play WOW, might wanna bid them farewell for the next few weeks.
Below is the official Ulduar trailer, which is pretty awesome, but also a tad spoiler-heavy. Probably the most notable features are Jaina Proudmoores new nose, and more of the bafflingly emo king Varian Wrynn. Which begs the question: how does one petulant Dragonball Z reject become king of an empire?

I am constantly impressed with Blizzard’s dedication to maintaining their product long after the release date- they even patched original Starcraft a few months back, and that’s over a decade old!
