Blizzard promised several world-spanning “world events” which would lead up to the Wrath of the Lich King, and last night, the first of several kicked off. Zombies! Suspicious looking crates appeared in capital cities, which when used, will infect you with a ten minute disease. If you let it gestate (and don’t get it looked at by a member of the Argent Dawn), you’ll turn into a zombie, complete with a new attack bar and the ability to converse in Zombie talk. It’s a delicious irony that in death, the horde and alliance can finally communicate. A guildmate and myself joined several horde last night and almost wiped out Booty Bay, a task made easier by the fact that ten minutes after an attack, npcs who were infected became our unwilling slaves. Take that, innocent bystander!
Incidentally, if you’re enjoying being infected, don’t go near any Paladins. They can, and will, gank you on the grounds that they’re being “in character”. Which I believe translates as “being a dick”.

That’s cool. There aren’t nearly enough mysterious boxes turning people into zombies these days.

I hope people have cottoned on to how awesome this is by now and will cooperate to build zombie hordes. Because when we tried our valiant attacks on Booty Bay and Darkshire people tended to see zombies and just kill them, and thus ruining the fun for all.
I really like that you can talk to the horde once they are dead too. It takes away the anonymity of ganking. If someone has been ganked you or is being a dick to you, and you manage to take them down and turn them into a zombie you can finally abuse them in a language they understand!

Sexcellent. I’m sitting here trying to think of how i can put into words how awesome this is, but i can only compare it to Mudkip and LAZOR’s.
