On the latest episode of Nerds of a Feather, I opened with what some have dubbed an almost cruelly obscure Kafka cosplay joke. I was, however, being quite serious; I am considering attending a cosplay this weekend, though not as the ill-fated protagonist of The Metamorphosis. This weekend, Manifest ‘08, Melbourne’s annual Anime festival, is on at the University of Melbourne. There will be plenty of anime screenings, cosplay, and other random acts of nerdom going down from Friday the 26th (today, in case you’re drunk or lost in the desert*) through until Sunday the 28th. The anime ball was last night, and I left a mandible on the front steps before scurrying away at midnight. If anyone finds it… uh… I guess throw it out. Or keep it, I don’t care.

I would think that you would need to be drunk, or at least void the space-time continuem to understand how Friday AND Sunday both fall on the 28th
