The latest Issue of Yen magazine, out now, features a terrific article on our very own Luke Ryan. It’s a fairly candid breakdown on how he’s used standup, and comedy in general, to confront the whole cancer issue. It also has a massive photo which makes him look more like a buoyantly pensive wunderkind than I’ve ever seen him. The article itself is a fantastic piece, so check it out!
Also, this issue of Yen, issue 33, is a special “girls of indie rock” issue, which suits Luke to the letter. His latest album, My Opening, is ten of the most affecting and plaintive ballads I’ve heard since Cat Power’s The Greatest. His new single, It’s a Vagina, will be available on Itunes next week.

This is what I get for giving your album a free plug? Look, I’ll even link to your entry on allmusic.com.
Ok, so I linked to the wikipedia entry on Vagina. But you deserve it. Oh, by the way, did you hear? Fucking Bernie Mac died. Show a little respect.
