That’s right, the trailer for the new Watchmen film has been released. It’s more like an extended teaser, but there’s so much footage in it you can pretty much get a good impression of the kind of aesthetic they’re going for. It’s directed by Zack Snyder, the guy who translated Frank Miller’s 300 to screen, and hopefully he’s learned to tone it down a bit since that particularly greasy outing. I’ve never seen more man nipples and so many deformed people onscreen at once.
At least, not since… yeah, never.
The trailer can be viewed over at the official website, which has the usual flash-based hoohah going on. I’m honestly not the biggest fan of The Watchmen, as Alan Moore can be very much hit-and-miss with me; some of his work seems to wander so far towards convoluted I have to put on hand lotion.* Regardless, it has a year until it comes out, during which time we have several other superhero films to distract us. Thor, anyone?
…yeah, I thought not. Thor blows.
*Not sure what this means. Maybe it’s that convoluted literature sucks the life from my hands? Yeah, that’ll do.
