Several of my friends have literature inspired tattoos (from song lyrics to T.S. Eliot quotes), so I was delighted when I came across this online project which charts the tattoos of like-minded people. Some are questionable (I wouldn’t have a page from Fight Club covering my back, partly because nihilism and my spine wouldn’t get along, and partly because I wouldn’t want people saying “I love that movie!” every time I took my shirt off). Some are magnificent. I’m now very tempted to get Tintin tattooed somewhere, or a Marquez quote. You think an Obama tattoo would be ill advised? I mean, I love the guy but what if he snaps one day and orders the death penalty for barbers, or something? Then I’ll be the guy with the tattoo of the barber-killer.
Ooh! Barber. Now I know what to get a tattoo of.
That Wily Sonofabitch has qualifications to rule a country. I’m thinking if Obama bottoms out, we have an excellent backup candidate.
Vote Babar. He’ll work for peanuts!

getting an Obama tattoo would have the same fanboy meets JoeBlow, serious politico meets Who Magazine reader vibe a Fight Club Tattoo would have.
You would need a twist on the image so it doesn’t date. Maybe Obama in wrestling trunks or something.
