On today’s episode of Nerds of a Feather (Podcast available here), I discussed:
- The perils of ingesting too many Kangaroo tacos after a bout of gastro!
- The Back to the Future hoverboard on ebay, much to the delight of Lindsay! No luck convincing Marieke or Robbie that it actually hovers, though.
- In gadget news, a frustrated (and inebriated) man who shot his robotic son! Or lawnmower. It’s called Lawn Boy, come on!
- The origin of the “richter scale”, as told by a caffeine-deprived nerd (me)!
- The Death of Estelle Getty and my impending Death Knight tribute!
- A dating show for 43,000 year old plants! …Well, sort of.
- And of course, the story about how a high school kid’s principal was sent a disgruntled and hilarious letter by the guild he ripped off!
As an addendum, all ended well (more or less) in this last situation. The item, which binds on equipping, was apparently returned by the good folks at Blizzard. Hopefully the whole sordid affair is now at a close, and we can all laugh heartily, do some interprative dance and ride a pink horse. I feel lightheaded.

The WoW story was hilarious! I’ve just been watching The Guild http://www.youtube.com/user/watchtheguild and it was a bit of a coincidence that you bought this story up the day after i was laughing at Bladezz ripping off their guild. This series is totally worth watching if you get a chance..

Seen it! Seeing Nathan Fillon back on screen acting (semi)heroic was the highlight for me, as quite often Whedon’s musical tracts (the singing parts) tend to give me the heebie jeebies. Unless Xander is the one singing, them I’m sort of fine with it.

Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is ten flavours of awesome. Pity it can’t be purchased through the Australian iTunes Store just yet. I did have the privilege of being woken in the middle of the night by a friend who finally worked out the chords to ‘Laundry Day’ and proceeded to sing it over the telephone. Best late night conversation ever.
Also, thought the WoW story was hilarious. I’m *ahem* in a World of Warcraft guild and some of those guys do take it pretty seriously. At the end of the day, it’s just pixels on a screen. Pixels on a screen.
