The Somewhat Ambitious

Colbert is running for president!

Let me clear that statement up a little. A while back Stephen Colbert actually ran for president, but bailed after he quietly proved he had an epic following (epic is not an understatement when it comes to Colbert, incidentally; the guy has a bridge – almost, an eagle, a spider, and an icecream flavour named after him, not to mention owning the late Captain America’s shield). However, a few months back Joe Quesada from Marvel informed him that in the Marvel universe, Colbert is still in the running.

Not only is he in the running, but apparently he’s doing very well on account of the mutant vote, which I’m assuming is due to a loophole allowing two-headers to get a vote per head. At the moment, the Marvel universe is tied up with all this Skrull business. Skrulls are shapeshifters, wreaking impish havok and generally messing shit up. The very name “Skrull” strikes fear into the hearts of citizens of the Marvel universe, probably because it sounds a bit like “skull”, which sounds scary, I guess. You know, the way Deadpool conjures up images of being dead in a pool, or something. Fuck, I hate Marvel.*

Anyway, out of these two Marvel related stories I’m most tickled about the Colbert related one, but both are drawing a lot of attention at the moment. I’ll be charting both the real US elections (because I have a fetish and I don’t feel like I ought to hide it), and the Marvel universe election whenever something particularly scintillating goes down. Both are equally bizarre and improbable, both have a forgone conclusion, and both involve Thor in some way.

Wait, no, not Thor, that other thing. Voting.
