Seeing as how I’ve been flying the Firefly flag (sorry, alliteration) a great deal lately I figured I should give you all a heads up regarding an excellent event. Can’t Stop The Serenity is a nationwide charity event, involving a screening of Serenity in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Launceston and Auckland this weekend. Screening details are as follows:
Adelaide: Friday 4 July at the West Adelaide Football Club (Milner Rd, Richmond) from 6pm
Auckland: Saturday 5 July at Freeman’s Bay Community Hall (on Hepburn Rd) from 5:30pm
Melbourne: Sunday 6 July at Kino Denby (top of Collins Street, Melbourne) from 3:30pm
Brisbane: Sunday 6 July at Eldorado Cinema in Indooroopilly from 6:45pm
Launceston: Sunday 6 July at Village Cinemas (on Brisbane St) from 6:30pm
Proceeds are going to Equality Now (Whedon’s chosen charity), and along with the screening there’ll be all sorts of prizes, signed doodads and other assorted goodies floating about. I didn’t get to attend last year but I’ll be at the Melbourne event with bells on.* For more info, head over to the website.
*I will not be wearing bells.

Cheers Andrew, link fixed! Can’t wait to see it (again), and possibly argue over some of the character-related moves Whedon made. Browncoats seem to defend every move he’s made in that respect, and I look forward to verbally jousting a fair bit.
