The Somewhat Ambitious

I’ve just been informed that there’s a chance NICHELLE NICHOLS WILL BE AT SUPERNOVA. You think representing Triple J will impress her enough to marry me? Now I’m faced with a dilemma. Do I go with Jewel Staite (Kaylee) or Nichols (Uhura)? This is assuming that they do, in fact, accept my proposal to join my samurai netball team. I should point at that when I get very excited, I start making up violent hybrid sports. After I met David Attenborough I became manically compelled to play exploding hockey; imagine the thrill of hockey combined with the pageantry of blowing up.

The “McFly” part in the title alludes to Nike’s impending release of the Hyperdunks, a line of Back to the Future 2 inspired pumps (evidently the Gizmodo petition picked up some steam). One of my favourite things about that film, along with the hoverboards and the barely subdued incestuous undercurrents, were the costumes. Specifically, the future-garb forced upon a harried McFly shortly after Doc gave his girlfriend a horse tranquilizer and said “great Scott” about eight times.

The shoes are cool, apart from the fact that they have “2015″ and the BTTF logo on the tongues, which is more or less equivalent to spiderman wearing a shirt with the word “Spiderman” on it. When i was six i went to a playgroup superhero party as batman. My outfit consisted of black bike shorts, a plastic Batman mask and a Batman beach towel tied around my neck. The beatings were swift and righteous. Like Batman.
